Great news. I've just found out that I've been short listed for the Institute of Designers Ireland Graduate Awards in the Craft and Furniture category. The awards are on November 5th so I will have my fingers crossed until then!
I will be talking tomorrow in NCAD with three other designers from disciplines across the fields of fashion, textiles and jewellery talk about colour in our work. The relationship between colour, material, process and production, and the aesthetic, symbolic and environmental impacts of colour, are some of the considerations explored in the presentations.

I'm delighted to say that I won the student award for Exhibition/Trade Fair for the Design and Craft Council of Ireland's Future Maker awards. I will be using the €1000 to show my work at Sieraad, Amsterdam, in November so it will be a huge help. I'm so chuffed!
The Association for Contemporary Jewellery produces a wonderful biannual magazine and they have chosen my skip family portrait to feature on their 2015 Spring/Summer edition. I'm very honoured and very proud to have been selected for this
In conjunction with SNAG Impact: Looking Back, Forging Forward, #ThisIsABrooch will be hosting an interactive photo booth exhibition during the 2015 conference. This is part of Adorned Spaces at SNAG Conference and curated by the lovely duo, Émilie Mulcahey and Maggie Smith. I'm happy to say that five of my little skips will be part of #ThisIsABrooch and will be available for the photobooth. I'm looking forward to seeing other jewellers wearing my work (if only temporarily!)

I'm so excited to be part of Kath Libbert's new exhibition entitled 'Youth Movement'. In it are nine graduates: eight from the UK and just one from Ireland (ME!) so I am very proud The private view takes place tomorrow and I will be flying to Bradford to attend and am looking forward to meeting the other makers involved and comparing stories of how their practises have emerged.
Kath Libbert is known for supporting emerging and exciting designers so I am delighted that I was chosen to take part.
The show runs from 12 November until January 25th, 2015.
I am taking part in a wonderful group exhibtion hosted by Art Jewellery Network over the next few months. Each designer or artist has to make a one metre chain and they will then be joined which will reflect AJN's growing community. The chains will be part of a larger installation piece and the exhibition will tour at least three different location in Belfast. It's such a lovely idea and I am delighted to be part of it! My offering to the project is shown here on the right.
