This was for a projec entitled 'Icon'. I based it on my friend Jen whose nickname is, unsurprisingly and unoriginally, 'The Hen'.

 

The text is a catchphrase of Jen's - dirty words coming from a pretty and mild-mannered primary school teacher are my favourite kind of profanities!

 

I took inspiration from Russian orthodox icons. The materials used are anodised aluminium, gilding metal, bicycle reflectors, wood, paper and stones. Methods used were anodising, riveting and etching.
