

Not Too Precious
I'm taking part in an excellent exhibition at the moment. It is called Not Too Precious and is being held in the Ruthin Craft Centre in Wales. Curated by Gregory Parsons, it has some of the big players of the jewellery world including Felieke Van Der Leest, Lena Peterson and Timothy Information Ltd. Colour and context
I will be talking tomorrow in NCAD with three other designers from disciplines across the fields of fashion, textiles and jewellery talk about colour in our work. The relationship between colour, material, process and production, and the aesthetic, symbolic and environmental impacts of colour, are some of the considerations explored in the presentations. MFA work debut
My MFA show opens tomorrow, the 12th of June, in NCAD. It features my new collection, entitled Lust at Sea. It looks to life jackets as a method of overcoming a creative block. It starts at 6 and you will find my work on the ground floor of the Design Building alongside the other metal and jewellery MFA's, Chikere Ohoka and Cecilia Moore. Future Makers
I'm delighted to say that I won the student award for Exhibition/Trade Fair for the Design and Craft Council of Ireland's Future Maker awards. I will be using the €1000 to show my work at Sieraad, Amsterdam, in November so it will be a huge help. In conjunction with SNAG Impact: Looking Back, Forging Forward, #ThisIsABrooch will be hosting an interactive photo booth exhibition during the 2015 conference. This is part of Adorned Spaces at SNAG Conference and curated by the lovely duo, Émilie Mulcahey and Maggie Smith. I'm happy to say that five of my little skips will be part of #ThisIsABrooch and will be available for the photobooth. I'm looking forward to seeing other jewellers wearing my work (if only temporarily!


Youth Movement
I'm so excited to be part of Kath Libbert's new exhibition entitled 'Youth Movement'. In it are nine graduates: eight from the UK and just one from Ireland (ME!) so I am very proud The private view takes place tomorrow and I will be flying to Bradford to attend and am looking forward to meeting the other makers involved and comparing stories of how their practises have emerged. 2 Selected Works
The School of Design is presenting an exhibition called 2 Selected Works exhibition. I'm happy to have I have two pieces showing in the NCAD gallery in this event, which is part of Design Week. It opens tomorrow, 31st October and there will be a late opening event next Thursday, 6th of November. Chain Reaction
I am taking part in a wonderful group exhibtion hosted by Art Jewellery Network over the next few months. Each designer or artist has to make a one metre chain and they will then be joined which will reflect AJN's growing community. The chains will be part of a larger installation piece and the exhibition will tour at least three different location in Belfast. It's such a lovely idea and I am delighted to be part of it!
